Therapies

Massage is the manipulation of the muscles and fascia (connective tissue) using the hands and other tools to release tension and correct improper muscle firing to alleviate pain and correct imbalances in the body.

I will advise on a treatment to help release tension and stiffness in the body, alleviate aches or pains, help to de-stress and improve general wellbeing.

Sports massage

Sports massage

Sports Massage is a form of massage using deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscle. It is similar and overlaps in many areas to Deep Tissue Massage in terms of technique, and ultimately the intention with both is to restore the length and quality of the muscle. The benefits are many and are aimed at persons engaged in regular physical activity to enhance their performance and treat injury, but it can also benefit those with muscle tightness and pain.

Treats:

  • Sports injuries
  • Muscle tension and stiffness
  • Back, neck and shoulder pain
  • Tendon pain
  • Pre and post event muscle preparation and restoration
  • Symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression
  • Headaches Softens scar tissue

Other benefits:

  • Helps reduce recovery time after injury
  • Rectifies imbalances Increases fitness capabilities
  • Promotes joint flexibility
  • Aids removal of toxins
  • Enhances performance

There can be mild discomfort during a treatment as tight muscles are worked on. This may also result in a day or two of soreness following the Sports Massage.

Sports Massage should not be used in place of conventional medical care for injury, but as an additional benefit. It is advisable to consult a Health Professional for advice first, if suffering an injury.
